Iwan Dmitrijewitsch Barbaschow ( Russian Иван Дмитриевич Барбашёв ; English transcription: Ivan Dmitrievich Barbashev or Barbashov ; born December 14, 1995 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the St. Louis Blues from the National Hockey League since July 2014 . The left winger won the Stanley Cup with the team in the 2019 playoffs . His brother Sergei is also a hockey player.
Career
Ivan Barbaschow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Dynamo Moscow . The winger was selected in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft as the 33rd player of the St. Louis Blues from the National Hockey League .
In July 2014 he was signed by the St. Louis Blues with a three-year entry contract and has been active in the American Hockey League for their farm team , the Chicago Wolves , since the beginning of the 2015/16 season . On January 26, 2017, Barbashov made his debut in the NHL. In the game against the Ottawa Senators on February 7, 2017, he scored his first goal in the NHL.
During the 2017/18 season, the attacker established himself in the Blues' NHL squad and won the Stanley Cup with them in the 2019 playoffs .
International
For Russia , Barbaschow took part in the junior division of the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2012 , the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 , the U18 World Junior Championship in 2013 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2014 and 2015 .
