Jewish community of Schalbach
A Jewish community in Schalbach in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine has existed since the end of the 18th century.
history
The Jewish community of Schalbach built a synagogue in the Rue des Juifs ( Judengasse ) in 1802 , which is now used as a garage. The Torah shrine is still there, as are the original windows. In 1945 the synagogue was sold to a private person. From 1808 the Jewish community belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz .

The Jewish cemetery in Schalbach is located at 137, rue des Juifs. The last funeral took place in 1938.
