The 1995 Japan Football League was the fourth season of the Japan Football League , a league at the second level of the Japanese football league hierarchy. A total of sixteen clubs took part in it.

Champion and promoted to the J. League 1996 was Fukuoka Blux , in addition, the runner-up Kyōto Purple Sanga made the leap into paid football. There was no relegation to the regional league .

mode

The teams played a simple double round tournament , so that each club had to play a total of 30 games. Similar to the J. League mode in 1995 , there were no draws; are level after 90 minutes of the playing time was about twice fifteen minutes extended , the golden goal rule was used. If it was still a draw after that, the winner of the game was determined by a penalty shoot-out .

After the number of games won in the last two seasons was decisive, points have now been distributed for the first time. There were three points for a win and one point for a defeat on penalties. The table was created according to the following criteria:

  2. Goal difference
  3. Goals scored
  4. Results of the games among themselves
  5. Decision game or coin toss

The two best teams rose to the J. League in 1996 , provided they had the status of a so-called Associate Member of the J. League. Depending on the promotion, up to two teams were relegated to the corresponding regional league .

A total of sixteen teams took part in the competition. As in the previous year, two teams were promoted to the J. League in 1995 ; Cerezo Osaka and Kashiwa Reysol were accepted as new members in the Japanese professional league.

With the rise of Cerezo and Kashiwa, there were no relegations from the Japan Football League in 1994. The field was supplemented by the two best teams in the regional league finals , Fukushima FC and Brummell Sendai .

Before the start of the season, some clubs changed their names and sometimes also their hometowns. With the aim of making promotion to the J. League, Chūō Bōhan moved from Fujieda , Shizuoka to Fukuoka , Fukuoka and Kawasaki Steel from Kurashiki , Okayama to Kobe , Hyōgo , the new names of these two clubs, which also became the so-called associate Membership of the J. League were Fukuoka Blux and Vissel Kobe . In addition, Kofu Soccer Club was renamed Ventforet Kofu .
