The Japan Football League in 1994 was the third season of the Japan Football League , a league in the second tier of the Japanese football league hierarchy. A total of sixteen clubs took part in it.
Champion and promoted to the J. League 1995 was Cerezo Osaka , in addition, the runner-up Kashiwa Reysol made the leap into paid football. There was no relegation to the regional league .
mode
The teams played a simple double round tournament , so that each club had to play a total of 30 games. Similar to the mode of the J. League 1994 there were no draws; are level after 90 minutes of the playing time was about twice fifteen minutes extended , the golden goal rule was used. If it was still a draw after that, the winner of the game was determined by a penalty shoot-out . The table was created according to the following criteria:

The two best teams in Division 1 rose to the J. League in 1995 , provided they had the status of a so-called Associate Member of the J. League. Depending on the promotion, up to two teams were relegated to the corresponding regional league .

A total of sixteen teams took part in the competition. After the withdrawal of NKK SC and Toyota Motor Higashi-Fuji SC at the end of the 1993 season as well as the rise of Fujita , who renamed themselves Bellmare Hiratsuka after the rise , and Yamaha FC Júbilo Iwata , which is the sponsor according to the J. League statutes had to delete from the club name, the originally two divisions were merged.
The only athletic relegated from the Japan Football League in 1993 was Toho Titanium SC , who returned to the Kantō Regionalliga. Seinō Transportation SC and Kofu Soccer Club prevailed in their relegation games against the two best teams in the regional league finals , Nippon Denso SC and NEC Yamagata . Nippon Denso and NEC then played off a promoted team, and the team from Yamagata Prefecture won 2-0.
In addition to Kashiwa Reysol , who had finally deleted the sponsor name from the team name before the season, three other clubs received the so-called Associate Membership of the J. League. Before the start of the season, Cerezo Osaka , formerly Yanmar Diesel SC , was awarded this status, and Kyōto Purple Sanga , previously known as the Kyōto Shiko Club , and PJM Futures received this status during the season . The futures were also officially moved during the current season from the local Shizuoka Prefecture to Tosu , Saga Prefecture ; Since the stadium in Tosu was still under construction at that time, the team played the season in Shizuoka to the end.
