Joseph W. Henkle

Joseph W. Henkle Sr. (born August 29, 1906 in Ponca City , Oklahoma Territory , †  January 25, 1983 in Great Bend , Kansas ) was an American politician . Between 1957 and 1961 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

The sources on Joseph Henkle are very poor. It is certain that he lived at least temporarily in the town of Great Bend in Barton County and was a member of the Democratic Party . In August 1956 he took part as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago . In the same year he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kansas at the side of George Docking . He held this office between January 14, 1957 and January 9, 1961. He was Deputy Governor . He died on January 25, 1983 in Great Bend.
