Harold H. Chase

Harold H. Chase (born March 31, 1912 in Springfield , Missouri , †  October 24, 1976 in Salina , Kansas ) was an American politician . Between 1961 and 1965 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

Career

Harold Chase graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University . After studying law at Washburn University and being admitted to the bar, he began working in this profession in Salina. During the Second World War he was a Judge Advocate in the American armed forces. In 1946 he represented the prosecution in the trial in Frankfurt of the robbery of the Hessian crown jewels. Later he also took part in the Korean War. Then he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In 1960 Chase was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kansas alongside John Anderson . He held this office between January 9, 1961 and January 11, 1965. He was Deputy Governor . In 1964 he unsuccessfully sought his party's nomination for the upcoming gubernatorial elections. He died on October 24, 1976 in Salina, where he was also buried.
