Alexander Miller Harvey

Alexander Miller Harvey (born November 24, 1867 in Richmond , Madison County , Kentucky , †  March 9, 1928 in Topeka , Kansas ) was an American politician . Between 1897 and 1899 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

Career

After studying law and being admitted to the bar, Alexander Harvey began working in this profession in various law firms in Topeka. He often represented poorer clients before the Kansas Supreme Court . Politically, he joined the Populist Party .

In 1896 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kansas at the side of John W. Leedy . He held this office between January 11, 1897 and January 9, 1899. He was Deputy Governor . During this time he also took part in the Spanish-American War of 1898 as a major in the American armed forces . He had three children with his wife, Isabella Cone. He died in Topeka on March 9, 1928.
