Jess C. Denious

Jess C. Denious (born July 14, 1879 in Dodge City , Kansas , †  December 1, 1953 ) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1947 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

Career

Jess Denious attended Neosho County's public schools . He then studied at Drake University in Des Moines ( Iowa ) and at Baker University in Baldwin City , which he graduated in 1905. He then embarked on a long career in the media world. He was first a newspaper reporter and then a newspaper editor. He was also president of Dodge City Broadcasting Co. and the Telegram Publishing Co. in Norton . Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In June 1924 he took part as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland , on which President Calvin Coolidge was nominated for re-election. In 1932 he was elected to the Kansas Senate.

In 1942, Denious was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kansas alongside Andrew Schoeppel . He held this office between January 11, 1943 and January 13, 1947. He was Deputy Governor . He was also a member of numerous organizations and associations. He died on December 1, 1953 in Dodge City, where he was also buried.
