Troy Findley

Troy Findley (born July 11, 1964 in Lawrence , Kansas ) is an American politician . Between 2009 and 2011 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

Career

Troy Findley attended his homeland public schools including Lawrence High School , which he graduated in 1982. In 1990 he graduated from the University of Kansas . He then worked in the banking industry. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1995 and 2003 he was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives . From 2003 to 2005 he was a liaison officer ( Legislative Liaison ) for Governor Kathleen Sebelius . After that he was their chief of staff until 2009.

After Sebelius was named US Secretary of Health in the Obama Cabinet on April 28, 2009 , Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson was her successor in the office of Governor of Kansas. This appointed Troy Findley on May 14 of the same year as his deputy. He held this post until January 10, 2011. During this time, he was also responsible for the energy policy of his state and advocated renewable energies. Findley is a member of several organizations and associations. He has a son with his wife Jennifer; the family lives in Topeka .
