Reynolds Shultz

Reynolds Shultz (born August 4, 1921 in Jefferson County , Kansas , †  January 24, 2000 in Oskaloosa , Kansas) was an American politician . Between 1971 and 1973 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

Career

Nothing is known about Reynolds Shultz's youth and schooling. From 1942 to 1945 he served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Rim during World War II . Among other things, he received the Purple Heart . Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party . He was elected to the Kansas Senate in 1964 and 1968 . There he was a member and chairman of various committees. In 1967 he also became a member of the Government Council ( Legislative Council ). In Jefferson County he belonged to several organizations and associations until his death.

In 1970 Shultz was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kansas alongside Robert Docking . He held this office between January 11, 1971 and January 8, 1973. He was Deputy Governor . At the same time he was a member of several political committees and supervisory boards. In 1974 he worked for the Farmers Home Administration (FHA). Then worked on Bob Dole's campaign team . He later became director of the FHA. He held this post until 1991. He died on January 24, 2000 in Oskaloosa.
