William M. Lindsay

William M. Lindsay (born July 24, 1880 in Allegany County , Maryland , †  February 22, 1957 in Pittsburg , Kansas ) was an American politician . Between 1937 and 1939 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kansas.

There are hardly any data available about the life and work of William Lindsay. In 1886 he came to Kansas, where he lived at least for some time in the city of Pittsburg in Crawford County . Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In 1936 he was elected lieutenant governor of Kansas as the first Democrat alongside Walter A. Huxman . He held this office between January 11, 1937 and January 9, 1939. He was Deputy Governor . He died in Pittsburg on February 22, 1957.
