Jutta Heine
Jutta Heine (born September 16, 1940 in Stadthagen ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who was successful as a sprinter .
Career
At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , Jutta Heine won the silver medal over 200 meters behind the American Wilma Rudolph (gold) and ahead of the British Dorothy Hyman (bronze). She also won the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay together with her teammates Martha Langbein , Anni Biechl and Brunhilde Hendrix . She started at these Olympic Games for the Federal Republic in a joint German team.
At the European Championships in Belgrade in 1962 , she won the title over 200 meters and was second behind Dorothy Hyman over 100 meters ; She won another silver medal with the 4 x 100 meter relay. In the same year Jutta Heine was voted Sportswoman of the Year .
Jutta Heine won the German championships in the 200-meter run in 1959, 1961, 1962 and 1963. In 1960 she was second and in 1964 third. In 1962 she became German champion over 100 meters and took second place in 1959 and 1961. With the 4 x 100 meter relay of the ASV Köln she was German champion in 1962, third in 1963 and second in 1964, with the Hannover 96 relay she won the runner-up in 1965.
She was also successful as a multi-fighter: in 1960 and 1962 she became German pentathlon champion . In 1962 the title of team champion in the pentathlon with the ASV Cologne team was added.
Jutta Heine also started at the Olympic Games in 1964 , but without medal success (with the 4 x 100 meter relay, 5th place in 44.7 s; eliminated in the 200 meter run with two false starts in the preliminary run).
It started for DHC Hannover until 1961, for ASV Köln from 1962 to 1964 and for Hannover 96 from 1965 . In her playing days, she was 1.82 m tall and weighed 71 kg. For her services to sport in Lower Saxony, she was included in the gallery of honor of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History. Since 1974 she has been the manager of a hotel and riding stables in Burglahr in the Westerwald.
Jutta Heine was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for her sporting success .
