Katja Konschak (* 1. July 1978 in Halle as Katja Wollschläger ) is a German triathlete and German champion in the Triathlon Long Distance (2016). She is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Katja Wollschläger was active as a swimmer from 1985 to 1994.

In 1997 the pharmacist started her first triathlon and in 1998 she finished tenth at the European Junior Championships.

In 2003 she started the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) for the first time and in October 2003 she finished second at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, making her runner-up in the world championship Age group of 25 to 29 year olds.

She starts for the club SV Nordhausen 90 .

In 2013 she was able to win ICAN Germany in the middle distance and successfully defend this success again in 2014. On the long-distance triathlon she became German runner-up in July 2013 and in July 2014 she was second at the Ironman UK .

In July 2016 she became vice European champion and German champion at the Ironman distance in Frankfurt am Main.

In July 2018, she finished fifth at the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt am Main.

Her husband Ulrich is also active as a long-distance athlete and Katja Konschak lives with him and their two children in Nordhausen .
