The London Borough of Camden [ ˈkæmdən ] is a borough of London . It is northwest of the city center and extends to Hampstead Heath . When the Greater London Administrative Region was founded in 1965, it emerged from the Metropolitan Borough of Hampstead , the Metropolitan Borough of Holborn and the Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras in the former County of London .
The 2008 population was made up of 71.0% white, 14.8% Asian, 6.9% black and 2.9% Chinese.
