Kim M. Robak

Kim M. Robak (born October 4, 1955 in Columbus , Nebraska ) is an American politician . She was lieutenant governor of the state of Nebraska from 1993 to 1999 .

Career

Kim Robak is the daughter of Jennie Robak (1932-2014), a former member of the Nebraska Legislature . She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln . After completing a law degree at the same university and being admitted to the bar, she began to work in this profession. At the same time she embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . During the 1980s she was a legal advisor to Governors Bob Kerrey and Kay A. Orr . In 1991 and 1992 she also served as an advisor to Governor Ben Nelson , whose chief of staff she became in 1992.

After Deputy Governor Maxine Moul resigned in 1993, the governor appointed her successor. In the 1994 elections, she was officially elected to this office, which she held between 1993 and 1999. After that she worked for several lobby companies. From 1999 to 2004, she also served as Vice President for External Affairs and Corporation Secretary for the University of Nebraska. Since then she has been practicing as a partner in the law firm Ruth Mueller Robak LLC .
