Frank Marsh (politician)

Frank I. Marsh (born April 27, 1924 in Norfolk , Madison County , Nebraska , †  March 10, 2001 in Lincoln , Nebraska) was an American politician . Between 1971 and 1975 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nebraska.

Career

Frank Marsh attended the public schools in his home country and then studied at the University of Nebraska . During the Second World War he was an infantryman in the United States Army . Then he worked as a part-time teacher and construction contractor. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . He became a member of numerous organizations and associations at the federal and state levels. Between 1953 and 1971 he held the office of Secretary of State of Nebraska, which his father of the same name held between 1926 and 1932 and from 1940 to 1951.

In 1970 Marsh was elected lieutenant governor alongside J. James Exon . He held this office between 1971 and 1975. He was Deputy Governor and formal chairman of the Nebraska Legislature . Between 1975 and 1981 and again from 1987 to 1991 he was State Treasurer Treasury Secretary of Nebraska. He died in Lincoln on March 10, 2001. Frank Marsh was married to Shirley McVicker, with whom he had six children. His wife was temporarily a member of the Nebraska Legislature.
