Roland A. Luedtke

Roland Alfred Luedtke (born January 4, 1924 in Lincoln , Nebraska , †  July 22, 2005 there ) was an American politician . Between 1979 and 1983 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nebraska.

Career

In 1942, Roland Luedtke graduated from Lincoln High School . He then served in the US Army during World War II . He then studied law at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, among other things. After being admitted to the bar, he began working in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1953 and 1959 he was Deputy Secretary of State of Nebraska. From 1967 to 1979 he sat in the Nebraska Legislature , of which he became President in 1977.

In 1978 Luedtke was elected lieutenant governor of Nebraska alongside Charles Thone . He held this office between 1979 and 1983. He was Deputy Governor and formal Chairman of the Nebraska Legislature. From 1983 to 1987 he was mayor of his hometown of Lincoln. Roland Luedtke died on July 22, 2005 of complications from Alzheimer's disease .
