William E. Johnson

William Edward Johnson (born June 28, 1906 in Omaha , Douglas County , Nebraska , United States , † September 1976 there ) was an American politician . Between 1939 and 1943 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nebraska.

There are hardly any usable sources on William Johnson. Nothing is known about his life beyond politics. He lived at least temporarily in Schuyler , Colfax County . Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 1938 he was elected lieutenant governor of Nebraska alongside Robert Leroy Cochran . He held this office after re-election between 1939 and 1943. He was Deputy Governor and formal chairman of the Nebraska Legislature . From 1941 he served under the new governor Dwight Griswold . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again.
