Roy W. Johnson

Roy W. Johnson (born June 19, 1882 in Weeping Water , Nebraska , †  December 2, 1947 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1947 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nebraska.

Career

Roy Johnson graduated from Sumner High School and then Lincoln Business College in the city of Lincoln . Politically, he joined the Republican Party and became a member of the school boards of the city of Sumner and Buffalo County . Between 1937 and 1939 he served in the Nebraska Legislature .

In 1942, Johnson was elected Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska, alongside Dwight Griswold . He held this office between 1943 and 1947. He was deputy governor and formal chairman of the state legislature. He died on December 2, 1947 in Chicago, where he was attending a convention.
