Kivisili ( Greek Κιβισίλι , Turkish Civisil or Cevizli ) is a place in the Larnaka district in Cyprus . At the last official census in 2011, the place had 233 inhabitants.

Kivisili is located in the southeast of the island of Cyprus at an altitude of 39 meters, about 38 km southeast of the capital Nicosia , 12 km southwest of Larnaka and 44 km northeast of Limassol .

The place is about 4 km from the Mediterranean Sea in the coastal hinterland on the Pouzis River . Nevertheless, the municipality includes a small stretch of coast. Larnaka Airport , the most important airport on the island, is about 9 kilometers to the northeast . A few kilometers to the north run the Autobahn 5 and the B5 from the A1 and B1 to Larnaka.

Places in the area are Alethriko in the north, Tersefanou and Kiti in the east, Softades in the south-east, Mazotos in the south-west, Anafotia and Aplanta in the west and Anglisides in the north-west.

Population development

Until the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus , the population consisted almost exclusively of Cypriot Turks . After the clashes, most of the residents were relocated to Trikomo in Northern Cyprus . Since then the village has been inhabited by Greek Cypriots , who were settled here from the Turkish-occupied northern part.
