The Landesliga Frauen Oberösterreich is the highest division in Upper Austria and the third highest division in Austrian women's football. The competition is organized by the Upper Austrian Football Association. The Upper Austrian champions are entitled to start in the 2nd middle / west league , the last two placed are relegated to the regional league.

In Upper Austria, a women's league was established at the end of the 1980s by the Upper Austrian Football Association with eight teams, SK Eintracht Wels, the second team from Union Kleinmünchen, ATSV Sattledt, Union St. Roman, Union St. Agatha, Union Engelhartszell, Union Ansfelden and SV Gramastetten organized. From 1996 the league was renamed the regional women's football league. Up until 2000 the champions were six times Union Kleinmünchen, twice FC Münzkirchen and once each Eintracht Wels, Union St. Roman and ATSV Settled. In the 1999/2000 season, the champions, the second team from Union Kleinmünchen, rose to the newly founded 2nd Division Middle.

From 2000 the Upper Austrian League was integrated into the Austrian league system as the 3rd division. In the first decade of the 2000s UFC Peterskirchen / Andrichtsfurt, SV Taufkirchen / Pram, the second team from Union Kleinmünchen, ASKÖ Dionysen / Traun, Union Geretsberg, Sportunion Wolfern, Wels FC, SV Taufkirchen / Pram for the second time within six years and again the second team from Union Kleinmünchen.

As of 2010, SV Garsten called themselves three times including the Wolfern / Garsten club, the Taufkirche / Pram club, the Wolfern / Stadl-Paura club, twice and Sportunion Wolfern, LSC Linz, the second team from Union Kleinmünchen and Union Geretsberg, once each for Upper Austrian women's football National champion.

Name (sponsor)

The Upper Austrian Women's League has been held with a sponsor in the name since the 2017/18 season. Before that, the OO women's league was either Upper Austria. Women's football 1st class or OÖ women's league.

Game mode

The league comprises a maximum of ten teams, with each club playing one home and one away game against each other. A season therefore comprises a maximum of 18 game days. The first in the table after the end of the season is eligible for relegation to the second-class 2nd division with the champions from Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
