Langendorf is a municipality in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
geography
Geographical location
Langendorf is partly in the Elbhöhen-Wendland nature park and mostly in the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve directly on the Elbe (German river kilometer 501). The community belongs to the Elbtalaue community , which has its administrative seat in the city of Dannenberg (Elbe) .

The municipality of Langendorf has consisted of seven places or districts since the municipal reform of 1972:

- Kacherien (also Cacherien ) district of Langendorf
- Kaltenhof (a part of Mecklenburg until 1945 )
- Laase
- Langendorf
- Pretzetze
Before 1972 Brandleben and Kacherien belonged to the municipality of Langendorf, Grippel and Pretzetze to the municipality of Laase.
The municipality is located in the district of Langendorf, which has grown together with the village of Kacherien to form a single location. The districts of Laase, Grippel and Pretzetze also form a common location.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, the communities Kaltenhof and Laase were incorporated.

The municipality of Langendorf belongs to the state electoral district 48 Elbe and to the federal electoral district 38 Lüchow-Dannenberg - Lüneburg .

Attractions
The list of monuments in Langendorf (Elbe) contains all the monuments of the municipality of Langendorf (Elbe).
The Protestant church is a neo-classical hall building of brick and was built in the years 1831/1832. A ridge turret from truss located on the west wall. Inside, the surrounding galleries and a pulpit altar are remarkable.
A little north of the village of Brandleben, near Kaltenhof, the remains of the Dömitz railway bridge, built between 1870–1873 and destroyed in the Second World War , can be found .
Between Langendorf and Grippel, on the K 27, on which the Elbe Cycle Path also runs in this section , there is a wooden observation tower , which offers a wide view of the Elbe meadows from its 11 m high observation platform . - The K 27 leads through the districts of Kacherien and Langendorf and provides the connection to the district of Grippel, where it meets the L 256, which , coming from Groß Gusborn in the south of the municipality, runs through the districts of Grippel, Pretzetze and Laase. The districts of Brandleben and Kaltenhof are connected in the north by the K 15 and K 16.
