Lawrence County is a county in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States . At the 2000 census , the county had 94,643 people and a population density of 101 people per square kilometer. The county seat is New Castle .
history
The city is named after James Lawrence , a naval officer who died in the British-American War in 1813 .
Nine structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of July 23, 2018).
