Käthe Sasso
was imprisoned here in 1942 at the age of 16
and in January 1943 was a prisoner in the
Vienna Regional Court.
In 1944 she was deported to the
Ravensbrück concentration camp.
When we forget the righteous,
our hearts turn to stone.
In memory of all the victims of fascism
Here, in the former Rossauer Lände police prison,
political opponents of
the Nazi regime were incarcerated without mercy from 1938 to 1945 . This
prison was the forecourt to the interrogations and torture at the Gestapo control center on
Morzinplatz.

thousands of children were gathered in this palace and brought to Switzerland and Liechtenstein for several months to relax as part of the Swiss Children's Aid Foundation via
Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof . After their return they were called Swiss children. This plaque commemorates the aid provided by Switzerland and Liechtenstein after the Second World War. Thanks also to all the people and organizations who made this action possible. Dedicated by the former Swiss children
