Marco Kana (born August 8, 2002 in Kinshasa , DR Congo ) is a Belgian soccer player who is under contract with the first division club RSC Anderlecht . The defensive player has been a Belgian U19 international since November 2019 .
Career
society
Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo , Kana moved to Belgium with his family at a young age . At age five he began at RSC Anderlecht in the capital Brussels with the football games . At Paars-wit he played in various junior selections on the position of defensive midfielder and was later captain of the U18 team. In April 2019, at the age of 16, he signed his first professional contract. Under the new trainers Simon Davies and Vincent Kompany , he was promoted to the first team squad for the 2019/20 season . He made his debut in the Belgian top division on August 4 (2nd matchday) when he came on for Philippe Sandler in the 0-0 draw against Royal Excel Mouscron in the second half . In his first starting eleven on October 20 (11th matchday), the now central defender scored a header after a corner in a 4-1 home win against VV St. Truiden . Under the new head coach Franky Vercauteren , he subsequently rose to become a regular player, despite his height of 1.78 meters, which is small for a central defender. During this season he played 15 league games in which he was able to score a goal. On June 17, 2020, his contract was extended until the end of the 2023 season.
National team
From March to May 2018, Marco Kana made four international matches for the Belgian U16 national team , in which he scored once. He then completed 14 missions for the U17s in one year . He has been playing for the U19s since November 2019 .
