Bubacarr Sanneh (born November 14, 1994 in Banjul ) is a Gambian football player . The central defender is currently under contract with the Belgian first division club RSC Anderlecht . He has been a national player since September 2013 .

Career

Sanneh began his career in his hometown of Banjul with Real de Banjul . With Real he was able to celebrate the championship title of the Gambian top division, the GFA League First Division , in 2012 and 2014 .

On September 1, 2014, the Danish second division club AC Horsens borrowed Bubacarr Sanneh for the remainder of the 2014/15 season . Horsens also secured an optional purchase option of € 40,000 in the loan deal. He made his debut in the Danish Super League on November 10, 2014 in the game against Viborg FF , when the central defender was able to score a goal for Horsens. After he was able to play in the starting lineup, Horsens withdrew the option to buy on April 22, 2015 and signed him until June 30, 2018. The central defender with a strong header was able to score 14 goals in 90 league games at Horsens in 3 years, all of which he scored with his head.

On New Year's Day 2018, his move to league rivals FC Midtjylland was announced. The top club from Herning paid a transfer fee of € 200,000 for its services. Sanneh made his debut for Midtjylland on February 9, 2018 when he came on as a substitute in a 2-0 away win against his former club AC Horsens. He scored the first goal for his new club in the championship round 2018 in a 3-3 draw against Aalborg BK . On the last match day of the Danish championship round, Midtjylland, with Sanneh in the starting lineup, defeated Horsens again and with this victory was able to overtake Brøndby IF in the table and win the championship again after 2014/15.

On August 31, 2018, Sanneh moved to the Belgian Division 1A RSC Anderlecht , where he signed a five-year contract. At the top Belgian club, however, he was unable to assert himself in the long term and was only used in 12 league games in his first 2018/19 season .

At the beginning of August 2019 it was announced that Sanneh would be loaned to the Turkish first division club Göztepe Izmir for the entire 2019/20 season. There he played only in three cup and two league games. The loan was terminated prematurely on January 28, 2020.

A new loan was completed three days later. Sanneh played at KV Ostend until the end of the season . He played three league games for the Kustboys in the remaining 2019/20 season. For the new 2020/21 season he returned to RSC Anderlecht.
