Maria Mittet
Maria Haukaas Mittet (* Maria Haukaas Storeng August 3, 1979 in Finnsnes ) is a Norwegian singer.
Career
At the age of eleven, Storeng appeared in the Norwegian version of the musical Annie , which was performed at Bryggeteateret in Oslo . This was followed by other musical roles in Oslo and in her home province of Troms .
In 2004 she took part in the second season of the Norwegian Pop Idol edition and was able to take sixth place there. The following year she released her first solo album, Breathing , which reached number 13 in the Norwegian music charts. The singles Breathing and Should've , which were extracted from it , entered the top 20.
With the song Hold On Be Strong by Mira Craig she took part as an interpreter for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 (ESC). The single reached number 1 on the Norwegian charts in February 2008 . In April of the same year she also released a studio album of the same name.
In the first semifinals of the ESC on May 20, 2008, Storeng managed to place himself among the ten most popular entries with Hold On Be Strong , which meant moving into the final four days later. There she finished fifth behind the Ukraine, Greece and Armenia in the victory of the Russian Dima Bilan .
In 2009 she was seen with the title Killing Me Tenderly together with Anna Sahlene in the fourth semifinals of the Melodifestivalens , but could not qualify for the final. Before that, she moderated the Melodi Grand Prix , the Norwegian preliminary round.
For the 48th Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 , which took place in Oslo , Haukaas Mittet sang the official World Cup song "Glorious". In 2015 she won the Norwegian music show Stjernekamp .
