NGC 235 is a pair of galaxies about 300 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus . The larger of the two galaxies is a lenticular galaxy and is called NGC 235A , the smaller is an elliptical galaxy, which is called NGC 235B or PGC 2570 . Together with the spiral galaxy NGC 232 located about 2 arc minutes to the southwest, the galaxies form an interacting trio.
NGC 235 was discovered by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth in 1886 .
