NGC 215 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Phoenix the southern sky . It is estimated to be 364 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 212 .

The object was discovered on October 28, 1834 by the British astronomer John Frederick William Herschel .
