NGC 203 = NGC 211 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic. It is an estimated 238 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 193 , NGC 199 , NGC 202 , NGC 204 .
The object was discovered on December 19, 1873 by the Scottish astronomer Ralph Copeland . Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan observed the same galaxy on November 18, 1876. The double observation was not recognized and so it was given the designation NGC 211 .
