NGC 182 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 239 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years across. Together with three other galaxies, it forms the NGC 198 group (LGG 9).
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 194 , NGC 198 , NGC 200 , IC 40 .

The type IIb supernova SN 2004ex was observed here.

The object was discovered on December 25, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
