NGC 199 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 210 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light-years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 193 , NGC 194 , NGC 200 , NGC 204 .
The object was discovered on September 24, 1862 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Ludwig d'Arrest .
