NGC 234 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 205 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 89,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 14, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
