NGC 250 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 238 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy NGC 257 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on November 10, 1885 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift .
