Lower Saxony Chess Association
The Lower Saxony Chess Association (NSV) was founded on November 8, 1924 in Hanover and has its headquarters there. It is one of 17 regional associations of the German Chess Federation . The NSV consists of 6 districts with over 200 clubs in Lower Saxony .
structure
The Lower Saxony Chess Association consists of six districts:
- The District I Hannover includes the counties Region Hannover , Schaumburg , Nienburg and Diepholz .
- The District II Braunschweig includes the districts Gifhorn , Peine , Helmstedt and Wolfenbüttel as well as the cities of Braunschweig , Salzgitter and Wolfsburg .
- The Area III Südniedersachsen comprises the counties Pyrmont , Hildesheim , Holzminden , Goslar , Northeim and Göttingen .
- The district IV Luneburg comprises the counties Cuxhaven , Celle , Uelzen , Lüchow- Dannenberg , Lueneburg , Harburg , Heidekreis , Rotenburg (Wümme) , Stade , Verden and Oster wood .
- The district V Oldenburg-Ostfriesland includes the districts Aurich , Wittmund , Leer , Friesland , Cloppenburg , Vechta , Ammerland , Oldenburg and Wesermarsch as well as the independent cities Delmenhorst , Emden , Oldenburg (Oldb) and Wilhelmshaven .
- The District VI Osnabrück-Emsland includes the districts of Emsland , Bentheim and Osnabrueck and the independent city of Osnabrueck .
Outstanding players
The currently best Lower Saxony players by rating are (as of November 24, 2011) Grandmaster Viktor Kortschnoi († 2016) (SV Lingen, 2552), International Master Maarten Solleveld ( Tempo Göttingen , DWZ 2491), IM Alexander Markgraf (Tempo Göttingen, 2485 ), GM Lev Gutman (SV Lingen, 2456) and IM Alexander Bangiev (PSC Hannover, 2393). The best players are Helene Romakin (SK Lehrte, 2010), Marine Zschischang (SK Lehrte, 2006) and Jasmin Laake (SK Leehre, 1986).
Over the years, some world-class players have also made stops in Lower Saxony, for example the world chess champions Anatoli Evgenjewitsch Karpow (Stadthagen) and Alexander Valerjewitsch Chalifman (Stadthagen).
Classification
The Lower Saxony Chess Association forms a team game with the State Chess Association of Bremen . The highest division is the regional league , which is played in the North (Bremen and districts IV, V and VI) and South (district I, II, III). This includes the association league in the squadrons North (Bremen and District IV), West (District V and VI), East (District II and III) and South (District I). Below the game operations of the Lower Saxony Chess Association follow the top division of each of the six districts as well as the Bremen City League and other subdivisions.
Above the regional league are the Oberliga Nord (Season West) , the 2nd Bundesliga and the 1st Chess Bundesliga .
