Thailand took part in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia with a delegation of 35 male athletes in 14 competitions in five sports.

It was the country's second participation in the Summer Olympics .

The youngest athlete was the sprinter Manum Bumroongpruck (20 years and 236 days), the oldest athlete was the sailor Prinz Bira (42 years and 135 days).
