history

The place name comes from a Franconian freeman named "Otram", who founded the settlement as a hamlet in the Carolingian royal march of Schwabach. The place was first mentioned by name as "Otganestorf" in a document that must have been created in the period from 1132 to 1162. This confirmed that the Heilsbronn Monastery exchanged its property, which it had acquired there from the Bamberg bishop , for two goods closer to Heilsbronn with Count Rapoto II of Abenberg . In the 13th century the place probably consisted of 5 whole courtyards. In 1328 the next mention was made as "Otramsdorf" on the occasion of the securitization of the right to repurchase a property to the diocese of Eichstätt by Heinrich von Morsbach .

In Urbar for the castle Count's Office Schwabach, which was erected around 1360, the village was mentioned as "Otter Mans Dorff". Already in the castlegrave Salbuch of 1410 it is recorded that “Ottermstorff” and Tennenlohe formed a community. In Ottersdorf there were 3 estates and 1 Selden estate . In the Salbuch of the now margravial office of Schwabach, which was set up in 1434, a foreign property was also recorded for the place. In 1530 there were still 5 properties in the village: 2 farms were subordinate to the Schwabach office, 1 farm, which partly paid a Nuremberg pastor and partly to the Schwabach office, 1 farm to the Schwabach hospital and 1 farm to the Pillenreuth monastery . In 1732 there were 9 properties in Ottersdorf, according to the descriptions of the Oberamts by Johann Georg Vetter , of which 5 properties were subordinate to the Schwabach caste office , 2 properties to the Schwabach hospital, 1 property to the Pillenreuth monastery office of the imperial city of Nuremberg and 1 property of the Nuremberg Order of the Teutonic Order . At the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties and a community pastor's house in Ottersdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (Kastenamt Schwabach: 3 half yards , 1 Köblergut , 1 Leerhaus ; Spital Schwabach: 1 Ganzhof, 1 Köblergut), the Teutonic Order Coming from Nuremberg (1 Köblergut) and the St. Klara and Pillenreuth Office of the Imperial City of Nuremberg (1 half yard) . In 1802 there were still 9 properties with the same landlord in the village.

In 1806 Ottersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . In 1808, as part of the municipal edict, the Büchenbach tax district , II. Section, was formed, to which Kühedorf , Ottersdorf, Tennenlohe and Ungerthal belonged. In 1818 the rural community Ottersdorf was formed, to which all places of the tax district Büchenbach, II. Section belonged and Obermainbach , which was assigned to the tax district Rednitzhembach . In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Schwabach Regional Court and in the financial administration to the Schwabach Rent Office ( renamed Schwabach Tax Office in 1920 ). From 1862 Ottersdorf was administered by the Schwabach district office (renamed the Schwabach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Schwabach until 1879 and from 1880 it came to the district court Schwabach . The municipality had an area of 10.794 km².

On January 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipality of Ottersdorf was dissolved: Kühedorf, Ottersdorf, Tennenlohe and Ungerthal were incorporated into the municipality of Büchenbach, and Obermainbach into the municipality of Schwabach .
