Paul Rudolf

Paul Rudolf (born December 6, 1892 ; † unknown) was a Swiss rower who became Olympic champion in a four-man team in 1920 .

Paul Rudolf from the Grasshopper Club Zurich competed in the first European championship after the First World War in Mâcon in 1920 with the Swiss foursome consisting of Willy Brüderlin , Max Rudolf , Paul Rudolf, Hans Walter and helmsman Paul Staub and won in front of the boats from Belgium and France . Switzerland had thus won all European championships in this boat class in the ten years since 1911. At the Olympic Games in 1920 , the boats from the United States, Norway and Switzerland faced each other in the final, the Zurich team won four seconds ahead of the Americans and the Norwegians four seconds behind. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 1921, Émile Albrecht rowed for Hans Walter and, together with Brüderlin and the Rudolfs, won another European title for Switzerland, the helmsman's name is not known.
