Paul Söllner (born June 5, 1911 in Davos ; † April 8, 1991 in Murnau am Staffelsee ) was a German rower of the Ludwigshafen rowing club and sports organizer.

Life

Söllner attended secondary school and completed a commercial apprenticeship after graduating from high school . In 1937 he became an officer .

Paul Söllner and his teammates from Mannheim's Amicitia Hans Maier , Walter Volle , Ernst Gaber and Fritz Bauer won the gold medal as a batsman in a foursome with a helmsman with a time of 7: 16.2 minutes at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin . In the same year he had also won the German championship.

From 1961 to 1967 the lieutenant colonel was commander of the Bundeswehrsportschule Sonthofen im Allgäu and from 1968 to 1972 co-organizer for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich .

Söllner regularly passed the German sports badge and in his spare time he occupied himself with painting , skiing and hiking .
