The Daihatsu Boon is a small car that is also available as the Toyota Passo . In Europe, the first generation is offered as Sirion II. From 2007 to 2011, the Boon I was also offered in Europe as the Subaru Justy .

After the Boon was introduced in Japan in the summer of 2004, it appeared in Europe as the second generation of the Daihatsu Sirion in early 2005.

It is powered either by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder or 1.3-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. The 1.0-liter engine is also used in a modified form in the Citroën C1 , Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo models . The model was specially developed for the European market. In Japan it only serves as a niche model as other models are predominant here. The design is functional and at the same time should appeal to the emotions. An optional all-wheel drive available as well as a four-stage converter automatic transmission .

A slight modification took place in early 2008.

While production of the Boon in Japan ended in February 2010, it was offered as Sirion in Europe until 2011.

Since February 2010 there is a new Daihatsu Boon in Japan, which is also offered again as the Toyota Passo . However, since Daihatsu withdrew from the European market at the beginning of 2013, the model is no longer offered in Europe.

Engines are again the 1.0-liter and 1.3-liter gasoline engines with optional all-wheel drive. A continuously variable transmission is also available as an option. In Indonesia, on the other hand, it is the third generation of the Sirion, but unlike the previous generations, it comes from the production of the Malaysian car manufacturer Perodua .
