Piłak ( German  Pillackermühle ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Sorkwity ( German  Sorquitten ) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Geographical location

Piłak is located on the southwestern tip of the Pillacker See ( Jezioro Piłakno in Polish ) in the heart of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 14 kilometers southwest of the district town of Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).

history

The place called before 1871 Mühle Pillacken and before 1898 Pillonker Mühle consisted of a small homestead and until 1945 was a residential area within the municipality of Koslau ( Polish Kozłowo ) in the Sensburg district in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

With the whole of southern East Prussia , Pillackermühle was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of name “Piłak”. Today the place is included after Rybno (Ribben) (= "cęść wsi"), to whose Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) it also belongs. Both are part of the rural community Sorkwity (Sorquitten) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Pillackermühle was parish in the Protestant church Ribben in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic church Kobulten in the diocese of Warmia at that time . Today Piłak belongs to the church in Rybno: to the local evangelical parish , a branch parish of the parish Sorkwity in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , and also to the Catholic parish of Rybno in the current Archdiocese of Warmia .

traffic

Piłak is located a few kilometers south of Voivodeship Road 600 and can be reached by land via a junction not far from Karczewiec (Neusorge) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
