Wola Maradzka (German Maradtkenwolka , 1938 to 1945 Maradtken Abbau ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to Borowski Las (German Prauskenwalde) within the rural community of Sorkwity (Sorquitten) in the powiat Mrągowski (Sensburg district).

Geographical location

The hamlet ( Polish Przysiółek ) Wola Maradzka is located on the east bank of the Pillacker See (Polish Jezioro Piłakno ) in the middle of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 13 kilometers southwest of the district town of Mrągowo (Sensburg).

history

The small town originally consisted of several small farms. In 1839 Maradkerwolla was mentioned as “a leasehold with 3 fireplaces”. The place - with three dwellings and 20 inhabitants in 1905 - was until 1945 a residential area of the Maradtken rural community in the Sensburg district in the Prussian province of East Prussia . On June 3 (officially confirmed on 16 July) 1938 Maradtkenwolka was foreign-sounding place names in "Madradtken degradation" of political and ideological reasons of defense renamed .

In consequence of the war in 1945 the place came with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish name form Wola Maradzka . Today he belongs as przysiółek wsi to Borowski Las (Prauskenwalde), the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Sołectwo ) and as such a place in the network of the rural community Sorkwity (Sorquitten) in the powiat Mrągowski (Sensburg district), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Maradtkenwolka resp. Maradtken dismantling was parish up until 1945 in the Evangelical Church of Ribben in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and also in the Roman Catholic Church of Kobulten in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today Wola Maradzka belongs church hand not to Rybno : the Protestant church community - a filial community of the parish Sorkwity in the diocese Mazury the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland - and the Catholic parish in the current Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Warmia .

Wola Maradzka is located on a side street that leads from Maradki (Maradtken) via Maradzki Chojniak (Maradtkenwalde) to Voivodeship Road 600 not far from Borowe (Borowen, 1938 to 1945 Prausken). There is no train connection.
