history
The area was surveyed as Township No. 1, Second Range Bingham's Kennebec Purchase, West of Kennebec River (T1 R2 BKP WKR) . The first settlers arrived in the area in 1786. Plantation No. 1, Second Range BKP WKR , the area was organized on October 17, 1840 and named Pleasant Ridge Plantation in 1875. The organization was sustained in 1878 and 1895.
