Harmony is a town in Somerset County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 939 people lived there in 608 households on an area of 104.43 km².

Geographical location
Harmony is located in southeast Somerset County and borders Piscataquis County . In the south, the lake The Narrows borders the area. There are other smaller lakes in the town area. The surface is slightly hilly, the 240 m high Carson Hill is the highest point.

history
The area was named Township No. 3, Second Range North of Plymouth Claim, East of Kennebec River (T3 R2 NPC EKR) and was part of the Hallowell Academy Grant . Charles Vaughn bought this and the area was organized as Vaughnstown Plantation. On June 14, 1803, it was organized as a Town under the name Harmony.
Settlement in the area started in 1796 and the population increased sharply after 1800. There were several grain mills and sawmills in the town, as well as a granite quarry in the 19th century.
