St. Albans is a town in Somerset County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there lived there in 2005 inhabitants in 1259 households on an area of 121.99 km².

Geographical location
St. Albans is located in southeast Somerset County and borders on Penobscot County . It is bordered by Lake The Narrows to the west and Weymouth Pond to the east . The Indian Pond is centrally located in the area . There are other smaller lakes in the town area. The surface is slightly hilly, the 319 m high Saint Albans Mountain in the northwest of the area is the highest point.

history
St. Albans was settled from 1800 and organized as a town on June 14, 1813. The area was surveyed as Township No. 5, Fourth Range North of Waldo Patent (T5 R4 NWP). Parts of Hartland were added in 1821 and area was given to Hartland in 1846. Parts of Ripley were added in 1862, this land grab was reversed in 2002.
St. Albans was named both after the martyr Alban of England and after the southern English city of the same name, St Albans .
