The Forks is a plantation in Somerset County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 37 people lived there in 230 households (in the United States vacation rentals are also counted as households) on an area of 107.4 km².

Geographical location
The Forks is centrally located in Somerset County. The Kennebec River flows south and forms the western limit of the plantation. In the south of the border Pleasant Pond in the area and in eastern forms Moxie Pond , the eastern boundary of the area. The surface is slightly hilly, the highest point is the 746 m high Pleasant Pond Mountain .

The Plantation The Forks was organized on November 2, 1840. The area was surveyed as Township No. 1, Fourth Range Bingham's Kennebec Purchase, East of Kennebec River (T1 R4 BKP EKR) also called Pleasant Pond Plantation . The organization was confirmed in 1859 and 1895.
