The Rosen Group ( spelling : ROSEN Group ) is a family company with headquarters in Stans , which specializes in the research, development , manufacture and use of inspection devices for pipelines and other complex technical systems . It offers its services and products worldwide for the oil and gas industry and other industries . In addition, the group of companies develops and manufactures “intelligent plastics” or functional polymers for various applications.

history

Beginnings

After studying measurement and control engineering, Hermann Rosen founded an engineering office in Lingen (Ems) in the mid-1970s . It initially dealt with devices and services of measurement technology , among other things for agriculture . The foundation stone of the Rosen Group was laid in 1981 with the establishment of H. Rosen Engineering GmbH . The company worked for customers in the gas and oil industry and primarily offered services for pipelines. In 1988 the company relocated to the industrial park in Lingen (Ems).

expansion

In the 1990s, several branches were opened abroad. These included those in the United States , Canada , Mexico , Argentina , Malaysia, and Australia .

In 2000, the company moved its headquarters from Lingen to Stans in Switzerland . In the following decade, it expanded its network of offices to include locations in the Netherlands , Great Britain , Saudi Arabia , the United Arab Emirates , Ukraine , Russia , Brazil and Colombia .

Despite relocation and expansion, Lingen always remained an important location. In 2006 a separate plastic production facility was set up. In September 2012 Opened Lower Saxony Prime Minister David McAllister , the Innovation Center of the Rose Group. A year later, a new logistics center with a Kanban system was put into operation in Lingen . In 2017 and 2018, the company built a new ceramic and battery building in Lingen.

In October 2013, the company carried out the longest non-stop inspection run to date in the Nord Stream Pipeline (1,224 kilometers).

Hermann Rosen has headed the organically grown group since it was founded. Friedrich Hecker only acted as CEO from the beginning of 2013 to the end of 2014 .

present

Business areas

The group divides its business into three areas:

  • The Asset Care division is characterized above all by pipeline inspections carried out worldwide. In addition to pipelines, the group also investigates other industrial plants and systems such as tank systems and pressure vessels , refineries , wind turbines , trains and tankers . The necessary inspection devices - including pigs for the internal and unmanned inspection of pipelines - are developed and manufactured in-house. The large amounts of data generated during the inspection are processed into information, analyzed and made available to the customer for decision-making. The services go beyond inspection and diagnosis. They also include the development of specific programs for maintenance and repair planning as well as for the integrity of technical facilities and systems .
  • The Process Control division drives the development of new technologies and services, such as a new, non-contact electro-magnetic-acoustic measuring method for measuring the flow of multiphase media in pipes in the oil and gas industry and other industries ( ROSEN EMAT flow meter ).

According to the company, the vertical range of manufacture is between 85 and 90 percent.

In 2015 she won the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Global Pipeline Award for her RoMat PGS service . For the first time, innovative measuring technology enables the determination of the yield strength of carbon steel pipes that are used for telescopic pipes. With the determined yield strength of the steel , the steel quality according to the API 5L standard can be determined for each individual section of the pipeline. The Canadian Energy Pipeline Association recognized the company in 2017 for developing the EMAT pipeline inspection service as a novelty for inspections in the oil and gas industry.

The company day-care center in Lingen won the employer's award for education in the field of early childhood education in 2012 . In 2016 the German Choir Association awarded the facility the Caruso Prize .
