The Ruwer-Hochwald-Radweg connects the valley of the Moselle with the heights of the Hunsrück along the Ruwer . The cycle path uses the railway line of the former Hochwaldbahn . It is 48 kilometers long, overcomes 400 meters in altitude and crosses a total of 20 bridges.
The RegioRadler Ruwer-Hochwald bus line (line R200) has been running between Trier and Türkismühle since April 1, 2009 . There are rental and charging stations for e-bikes in Hermeskeil, Kell am See and Kasel .
The official opening of the Ruwer-Hochwald-Radweg took place on May 9th, 2009 by the Rhineland-Palatinate Transport Minister Hendrik Hering .

With a leisurely driving style , the route from Ruwer to Hermeskeil can be covered in around four hours and the route from Hermeskeil to Ruwer in just under three and a half hours.
