Schneppe was a village in the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district .

Schneppe lies on the leuscheid . Today it forms the western part of Als .

history

Schneppe means locally a customs office in the land defense , derived from snap .

The village belonged to the parish of Leuscheid and at times to the mayor's office of Herchen .

In 1830, Schneppe was not yet in the directory as a settlement. In the map of Tranchot (1801–1828), however, the Schneppe is already recorded with several houses.

In 1845 the hamlet had 31 residents in five houses, all except one Catholic were Protestant.

In 1888 Schneppe had 42 residents in seven houses.
