Sherman County is a county in the state of Oregon in the United States . With 1,934 residents, Sherman County is the third smallest of Oregon's 36 counties by population. The county seat is in Moro . It is named after General William T. Sherman .

history

The county was founded on February 25, 1889 and named after William Tecumseh Sherman .

The county had 1,934 people as of the 2000 census . There were 797 households and 545 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 93.59% white, 0.21% African American, 1.40% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.00% residents from the Pacific island area and 2.79% from others ethnic groups; 1.55% were from two or more races. 4.86% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
